Hexis - Hexis

Probably one of the most promising demos (?) to come out last year. Black, doomy and heavy as fuck. Some similarities to Celeste may be drawn but this record seems even heavier to me. These hard working gentlemen are planning to release some more songs soon so keep an eye on them.

When you first hit play on Hexis’ self titled demo you’re struck with a barrage of sound that’s perhaps the aural equivalent of taking a mallet to the face. From the get-go, without any hesitance, the Danish outfit unleash an unholy cacophony with this unruly assault.

Hawkmoth are from Sydney, Australia. They play some instrumental music that will surely please fans of Isis, Pelican and similar bands. It does have enough intensity and diversity to attract even those who are not really into instrumental stuff ( like me ).

A compilation of 16 bands covering Tantrum. I love French scene and i've heard many of the mentioned bands but there are also some new ones for me, and i must say i liked every single track from the release. Well, Mea Culpa plays heavy music in vein of... eer.... the nfo-file says "Neurosis, Converge and Old Man Gloom". There's nothing exceptional in this record,but it's a great work. More tunes are available for download at their myspace page.

Battle of Mice was an all-star band, think you've heard about them. They are now disbanded but make sure to check other projects that members are involved in. A Day Of Nights is one of the best records ever made.
